About Lauren
2020 / 2021
I have joined the Technology Enhanced Learning team in MTU Cork as their E-Learning Technical Officer. I currently focus on the area of effective e-learning multimedia design and development. Working as part of the TEL Team has given me the chance to create learning content and experiences by, e.g., developing educational games, producing video, and designing bespoke media. Each project has been a pleasure to work on and has allowed me to further develop my skills and knowledge.
2019 / 2020
I am currently completing the second year of a full-time research masters at TU Dublin Blanchardstown Campus. This project involves designing, developing and testing a serious game in order to investigate the effectiveness of using serious games as training and educational tools in the construction industry.
2018
I have earned a first class honors, level 8 degree in Creative Digital Media from TU Dublin, formally Institute of Technology Blanchardstown. The Honors Degree covers the key areas of Web/ App Development & Design, Game Design & Development, Graphic Design, Content Management Systems, Brand Identity Design and more. The final year in this course requires the solo creation of a final year project. My project was an interactive story to help children who are bereaved. (see below)
Final Year Project
‘Missing You’
Missing you is a children’s interactive story developed to help a child deal with bereavement. This was a final year project in ITB for which i received a grade of B+. The interactive app has been developed with the help of Irish childhood bereavement network and Barnardos Bereavement. Every component within the app has been created by myself.

Video Work
In 2019 I worked with Dr. Liz Doherty, an academic at the University of Ulster, a traditional Irish fiddle player, and renowned teacher. I was commissioned by Dr. Doherty to record, edit, and add professional e-learning content to a series of fiddle tutorial videos. This involved researching video for instruction (Premiere Pro), the creation of bespoke graphics (After Effects, InDesign), and addition of interactive elements (H5P.org).
